Oshawa Mayor Tito-Dante Marimpietri will be sworn in on November 16 at the Tribute Communities Centre while also recognizing the 20th anniversary of the Tribute Communities Centre, which is a City-owned building.
Community members are invited to attend the inaugural meeting of the 2026-2030 Oshawa City Council at Tribute Communities Centre.
The inaugural meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m.
For the first time in the City’s modern history, the inaugural meeting is being planned to accommodate a broad public attendance. With Council Chamber accommodating approximately 75 attendees, hosting the meeting at the larger venue will allow more community members, along with family and friends of newly elected Council members, to attend and experience the beginning of the new Council term than ever before.
To mark the venue’s 20th anniversary, Oshawa-based artist Dani Crosby was commissioned to create an original poster capturing the shared experiences that have brought audiences together in downtown Oshawa over the past two decades. A limited number of free copies will be available at the meeting.
Community members can enter as early as 8:30 am at Gate 1, the building’s main entrance, located at Athol St. and Mary St. No registration or R.S.V.P. is required.
Parking is available at Parking Garage 3, located on Mary St. between King St. and Bond St. Accessible parking is available on Red Tilson Lane, located on the west side of Tribute Communities Centre and can be entered from Bruce St.
