Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision early yesterday morning in Ajax.

The indident took place at 6.30 am. The intersection of the collision at Church Street and Bayly in Ajax was closed off for several hours as police investigators scoured the scene.

Police said the male pedestrian, in his 50s, was first taken to a local hospital, but was then airlifted to a trauma hospital in Toronto.

Collision investigators are looking for witnesses to cone forward and call in at 905-579-1520, said the police.

It did not mention if the driver remained at the scene of the collision or not.
