People help police find dog taken in stolen car

Toronto Police Service (TPS) yesterday thanked the public for their assistance in locating a stolen vehicle and a dog.

The dog is safe, healthy and happily reunited with family, it added.

On Friday, January 24, at 11:20 pm, police were called to the area of McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto for a theft of a motor vehicle that had just occurred.

It is reported that the victims had parked the car and had gone into a convenience store. The car was left running while they went into the store. The car was stolen and was last seen travelling northbound on McCowan Road.

Inside the vehicle, at the time of the theft, was a three-and-a-half-year-old female tan coloured Black Mouth Cur dog, weighing 60lbs and belonging to the victims.
