Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 1,424 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the region since February 29. One new covid-related death were also reported.
The Covid-19 infections count on Wednesday had stood at 1,404.
Of the total cases, 23 are hospitalized, of which 6 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Deaths total 172, of which 146 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 1,096.
Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide Covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 504 were in Pickering followed by 364 in Ajax and 228 in Oshawa.
Death Toll:
- Of the 88 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH – no change
- Of the 36 reported deaths in Ajax, 31 were in LTCH
- Three deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH] – no change
- Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH – no change
- Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH] – no change
- 14 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 13 in LTCH – no change
- One death has been reported in Scugog
- No deaths have been reported in Brock – no change
