Police looking for Ajax paintball shooters

Durham police are looking for several suspects who were shooting paintballs from a vehicle at citizens in Ajax on Wednesday afternoon.

On September 9 at about 3:25 pm, members of West Division responded to a park near Carruthers Creek Public School in Ajax for reports of a suspect shooting a paintball gun from a vehicle while children played in the park.

There were no reported injuries. Officers received another call within the hour where a paintball gun was also used on Talbotshire Street. A third call came in on Rollo Drive after a 60-year-old male was struck by one of several paintballs while he was working in his garden. The suspects fled in a gold-coloured vehicle, police said.

The victim suffered some bruising from being hit.

Police are looking for possibly three suspects operating a gold, four-door sedan. The rear passenger, who was armed with a paintball gun, is described as a male with a tanned complexion.
