Four adults are charged with Provincial Offences after a search warrant was executed on August 31 at an after-hours bar in Ajax.
Also, a man is facing numerous firearms-related charges, said Durham Police.
Members of the West Division Community Resource Unit, along with uniformed officers from West Division and Central East Division, executed a Provincial Offences Act Search Warrant at a commercial premise at 467 Westney Road South in Ajax. Officers located an after-hours bar with several parties inside the premises. Officers seized two firearms found inside the commercial unit along with liquor/beer which were being sold illegally inside.
Trevor Pearson, age 25, of Farmers Avenue in Ajax is charged with: Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order; Carry Concealed Weapon; Contravention of Storage; Careless Storage of Firearm; Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Weapon; Possession of a Firearm Knowing Unauthorized and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. He was held for a bail hearing.
Maria Martinez-Basantes, age 42, of Wildwood Crescent in Pickering, Eric Mok, age 32, of Ramona Way in Markham, Nashawn Newman, age 23, of Duffort Court in Toronto, and Justyn Pekkinen-Mohammed, age 24, of Oshawa Boulevard North in Oshawa are all charged with: Unlawfully Keeping Liquor for Sale; Unlawfully Selling Liquor and Unlawfully Delivering Liquor for a Fee contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. They were given a Summons to Appear.
