Posters with anti-immigrant messages found

Durham Police is investigating two reported incidents of posters with discriminatory messages toward immigrants found in Durham.

On October 15, a poster was found on the Memorial Cenotaph in front of the Township of Scugog building on Perry Street in Port Perry. The poster used language that was discriminatory towards immigrants, police said.

A similar poster was found on November 7, on the doors of the Diane Hamre Recreation Centre on Rudell Road in Newcastle, it added.

The posters look similar and had a similar discriminatory message directed towards immigrants. Investigators believe the incidents could be connected, said a media release.
