Two males are facing charges after police officers responded to a theft in progress at a construction site on Friday night.
On August 23 at 10:30 pm, a monitoring company contacted police after two suspects were seen on camera stealing copper pipe from an apartment building construction site on Athol Street East in Oshawa.
Central East Division officers, along with K-9 and tactical members, located the suspects on the second floor of the building.
One suspect was stopped by Police Service Dog Rogue and was taken to hospital for minor puncture wound. The other suspect climbed to the outside of the building and jumped from the second floor, where he was arrested by responding officers. He was also taken to hospital as a precaution and medically cleared.
Geoffrey Tyler, age 47 of No Fixed Address in Oshawa is charged with Break and Enter Commit Theft; Theft Under $5,000; Breach of Probation x3 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was held for a bail hearing.
Michaiah Senior, age 36, of Dobson Drive in Ajax is charged with Break and Enter Commit Theft; Theft Under $5,000 and Breach of Court Order. He was held for a bail hearing.
