Schools Lockdown: 15-year old held for aggravated assault

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a 15-year-old Oshawa teen was stabbed after an altercation on Wednesday afternoon.

On December 1 at about 12:30 pm, members of Central East Division were called to Easton Park near Harmony Road South at Adelaide Avenue East for reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre. The suspect fled on foot, said a police statement.

Police searched the immediate area causing at least six schools to be put into a Hold and Secure [see below]. A young person was arrested later in the day.

A 15-year-old male of Oshawa was charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapons Dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation is on-going.
