Scugog Sports Hall of Fame induction still on cards

The Township of Scugog said The Scugog Sports Hall of Fame (SHOF) is continuing to be optimistic that it will be able to hold this year’s induction event planned for April 21.

The situation is being monitored on a daily basis. A new web pages on the Township of Scugog web site has been launched and can be accessed by searching Scugog Sports Hall of Fame or by entering https://www.scugog.ca/en/live-and-play/Scugog-Sports-Hall-of-Fame.aspx in your browser, said a SHOF statement.

“Support from the community is the life blood for operations like the SHOF and they are greatly appreciated at any time of the year. The web pages are still under development and any feedback or suggestions can be emailed to liashbridge@gmail.com,” the statement said.

“During the pandemic our efforts have been concentrated on preserving the many artifacts and memorabilia donated to the Hall of Fame. We need funds to purchase proper storage supplies and we are working on ways to make the collection more accessible to the public. We have also been working with the township to get more display space and need funds to support our plans to make the exhibits more interactive and informative. All designed to make the viewing experience a better one for visitors to the Hall,” it added.
