Illegal fishers netted at Bowmanville Creek

The East Division of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) went on a joint drive the previous weekend to enforce fishing regulations during the autumn salmon run.

The target location was Bowmanville Creek. They netted several persons with their illegal equipment and catch.

This past weekend a joint forces operation with East Division and the MNR resulted in several parties being charged with illegal fishing in the Bowmanville Creek – their equipment was seized as well as 50 salmon they had caught illegally. MNR will be laying charges in this matter, said tweet from the ministry.
