Shot fired into residential building in Oshawa

Durham police investigators are looking for a suspect after a shot was fired into a residential lobby in South Oshawa Saturday evening.

On June 27 at about 10:50 pm, members of Central East Division responded to the area of Bloor Street near Simcoe Street in Oshawa for damage to a residential lobby. A resident found the glass lobby shattered. Police reviewed video surveillance and it’s believed that a shot was fired from a white SUV with tinted windows. Police searched the area for evidence, said a police statement.

No injuries were reported.

One in trauma centre after a shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in Beaverton Monday night that sent one male to a trauma centre.

On June 29 at around 7:50 pm, members of North Division were called to a residence near Thorah Concession Road #4 and Highway #12 in Beaverton for a male who had been shot. Officers located a male with serious injuries from a gunshot wound. It is believed that there was a verbal altercation between the two males prior to the shooting, police said.

The 42-year-old male from Brock Township was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre via air ambulance with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police searched the area for the suspects, with negative results. Investigators do not believe this was a random attack.
