Shotgun, drugs seized during raid in Oshawa

A street-level drug investigation in Oshawa resulted in the seizure of over $5,000 in drugs and a shotgun hidden under a mattress.

On Thursday, July 30, members of the DRPS Gun & Gang Enforcement Unit concluded a street-level drug investigation and arrested a suspect in Oshawa. Later, a search warrant was executed at his residence on Cardigan Court in Oshawa.

Officers located over $5,000 in drugs (meth, cocaine and Fentanyl), digital weigh scales and drug packaging. They also located a shotgun under his mattress along with ammunition.

Andrew Arponen, age 35, of Cardigan Court in Oshawa is charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3; Careless Storage of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; and Possession of Firearm Knowing it�s Unauthorized. He was held for a bail hearing.
