Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) On Tuesday evening said a body had been found on the shore of Lake Ontario in Oshawa.
“Police responded near Stone Street and Cedar Street after a body was located deceased on the shores of Lake Ontario, said a DRPS tweet.
The intersection is close to Stone Street Park that borders the lake.
Investigators from DRPS Central East Division are waiting for the coroner to attend, it said adding that and more information will follow.
On Wednesday, the DRPS said “there were no signs of foul play or anything suspicious at this point”.
The body that was found was of a female. “The deceased was taken to the Center of Forensics Sciences for further examination,” it added.
