Durham police yesterday said a male youth is facing charges after a robbery at a high school in Oshawa.
On Thursday, April 16 at about 1:45 pm, members of the East Division Community Resource Unit (CRU) responded to a robbery call at a high school in the area of Harmony Road North and Adelaide Avenue East. A male student approached the victim when he exited class and made threats while demanding the victim’s phone and property. The suspect was confronted by school staff but fled the area on foot.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
A short time later, officers located the suspect at an Oshawa residence and took him into custody without incident.
A 14-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with: Robbery, Uttering Threats. He was held for a bail hearing.

Suspect Wanted For Armed Robbery At Two Oshawa Stores
A male is wanted following an investigation into two armed robberies at convenience stores in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, April 14 at about 10:15 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery call at Oshawa Grand Convenience located at 219 Nonquon Road. A male entered the business and made threats with a firearm while demanding cash from an employee. The suspect stole cash from the register and fled the area on foot. Officers did not locate the suspect.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
On Wednesday, April 15 at around 7:40 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery call at One Stop Shopping Convenience located at 293 Mary Street North. A male entered the business and made threats with a knife while demanding cash from an employee. The victim used a chair to defend himself and create space, which the suspect slashed and stabbed toward. The suspect smashed a display case and stole lottery tickets before fleeing the area on foot. Officers attended but did not locate the suspect.
The victim sustained minor injuries, police said.
Investigators with the Auto Robbery Crime Unit have identified the suspect, age 36 of No Fixed Address, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. At the time of the incident the accused was already bound by as weapons prohibition.
