Starting yesterday, residents can subscribe to receive updates on major weather events directly to their inbox through the new ‘Whitby Weather Desk’.
Weather events that will be communicated through the Whitby Weather Desk include significant snowfall, freezing rain and heavy rain. Information on how to stay winter safe will also be provided through the new eNews subscription, said a town announcement.
Going forward the Whitby Weather Desk will be used to communicate weather events year-round, it said adding that the Town of Whitby wants residents to be prepared and know what to expect during local winter weather events.
