Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K-9 Unit was at the fore again in recent days helping with two successful captures.
Yesterday morning, PC Dever, K9 Summit and officers from DRPS West Division teamed up to track and locate a suspect who had fled from a serious motor vehicle collision.
“After a challenging residential/bush track, K9 Summit located the outstanding perp hiding in thick brush. One in custody,” said a police tweet.
Arrested twice in two days
On Saturday July 8, Durham Regional Police Service K-9 Unit said PC Dunlop, K9 Taz and officers from DRPS North Division teamed up to arrest the same suspect twice in two days for Break & Enter.
During both incidents, K9 Taz was deployed.
A ‘K9 Challenge’ was issued to encourage the suspect to surrender both times without incident, said the police.
