A man from Whitby has been found guilty under the Tobacco Tax Act after he was found with 26,625 unmarked cigarettes for sale.
The convicted man has also been fined $9,000 by Ontario Courts on June 15. All tobacco products were seized and forfeited, according to a court bulletin.

In all, Ontario courts have convicted 17 individuals and businesses (including the Whitby resident) were convicted of offences under the Tobacco Tax Act. The court also imposed a victim fine surcharge for each offence, as required under the Provincial Offences Act. All tobacco products were seized and forfeited.
