Man robs Oshawa’s TD Bank but gets boxed in by police

A 27-year-old male was arrested after robbing a bank in Oshawa Thursday morning.

On July 11 at about 9:50 am, police responded to the TD Canada Trust bank on Stevenson Road in Oshawa for a robbery.

The suspect entered the store and demanded cash. There was no weapon seen at the time of the offence. The suspect took money and fled from the bank. The suspect was attempting to drive out of the parking lot when responding officers boxed him in.

The suspect was arrested at gunpoint and taken into custody. A replica firearm was located in the suspect vehicle.

None of the employees or customers suffered any physical injuries.

Kyle Chiasson, age 27, of Durham Street in Oshawa, is charged with:

  • Robbery with Firearm;
  • Wear Disguise with Intent and Weapons Dangerous.

He was held for a bail hearing.
