Suspect arrested after stabbing in Oshawa

Durham police have arrested a 26-year-old in connection with a stabbing in Oshawa on Wednesday evening.

On March 4 at about 5:45 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a parking lot in the area of Simcoe Street North and Taunton Road East in Oshawa for reports of a disturbance, said a police media release.

Police located a male victim with a minor stab wound as a result of a physical altercation involving another male. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Officers also located an imitation firearm, the release said.

The male victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, it added.

Devon Martin, age 26, of Russett Avenue in Oshawa faces eleven charges including: Aggravated Assault; Use Imitation Firearm; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
