Suspended impaired drove from road shoulder into ditch

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) officers from North Division arrested an impaired driver after reports of a vehicle driving on the shoulder – and then into a ditch in Scugog.

Officers discovered open alcohol in the centre console and arrested the driver. “Don’t drink and drive!” said a police tweet.

On March 5 at 4:25 pm, officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch at Simcoe Street and Clements Road in Scugog. When they arrived, they saw open alcohol in the car. The driver showed sigs of intoxication, said a police statement.

Further investigation revealed that he was also drive disqualified and a was a suspended driver.

The 50-year old from Oshawa was arrested and charged. His vehicle was impounded.
