Teen arrested with loaded gun in Oshawa

A 17-year-old boy is facing numerous firearms-related charges after officers located a loaded handgun during a fight on Sunday morning in Oshawa, Durham Police said.

On November 3 at 1:30 am, members of Central East Division responded to a fight call on Dean Avenue in Oshawa. Police responded quickly and located the two males involved in the fight. One of the males was in possession of a loaded firearm and cocaine. He was arrested and the handgun was seized.

The 17-year-old male of Oshawa, is charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine); Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Tampered; Carry Concealed Weapon; Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition; Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm; Contravention Use Regulation and Careless Use of a Prohibited Firearm. He was held for a bail hearing.
