Teen held after violent street-level robbery

Durham police investigators have arrested one teen and are seeking a second suspect after an armed street-level robbery in north Oshawa.

On February 4 at 3:00 pm, members of Central West Division were called to the area of Dance Act Avenue and Bromus Path in Oshawa regarding a violent street-level robbery.

The male teen from Oshawa advised police he arranged to meet with one of the males for a drug transaction and when they walked off of the roadway to complete the transaction, a second unknown suspect wearing a mask and brandishing a gun assaulted the victim, stealing his property. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.

Investigators were able to identify a 17-year-old suspect who was arrested on February 18, 2020 and is now facing numerous charges. Police are still looking for the second suspect.

A 17-year-old male from Oshawa faces 10 criminal charges, including: Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine); Forcible Confinement; Weapons Dangerous; Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.

The second suspect is described as male, black, 5’10” to 6′ tall, thin build. He was wearing a mask and was armed with a gun.
