‘Concerts in the Park’ return from July 4th

Oshawa: An outstanding lineup of talented artists will perform at the Memorial Park Bandshell (110 Simcoe St.) every Thursday this summer as part of Concerts in the Park. Kicking off on Thursday, July 4 between 7:00 pm and 8:30pm, attendees will be treated to the excitement of years past with the addition of two live theatre nights.

Audiences will enjoy a variety of performances highlighting all genres of music including, rock, jazz, reggae, and country. Community members are encouraged to check out the schedule online for more details on who is performing.

While the concerts and activities are free for all ages, the City is requesting that attendees bring a non- perishable food or hygiene donation for the Feed the Need in Durham, with the goal of raising a 300 lb. donation by the end of the concert series.

The City of Oshawa is offering new programming on two Friday nights (July 19 & August 16) featuring cabaret style theatre performances by Oshawa Little Theatre. The troupe will perform their favourite musical numbers from various shows.

In addition to Concerts in the Park on Thursdays, the Memorial Park Bandshell will also host performances by the Oshawa Civic Band on Wednesday, July 17, August 14 and August 28.

“Warm Thursday summer’s evenings and free concerts in Memorial Park. Just another great way to relax and enjoy what living in Oshawa has to offer,” said Councillor Rick Kerr, Chair of the Community Services Committee.

“There is a special magic to being outside during summer evenings in a tree-filled city park surrounded by music and community. Put these dates on your calendar and come enjoy them with friends and family,” said Councillor Derek Giberson, Vice-Chair of the Community Services Committee.
