This firearm was found during a traffic stop

Durham Police yesterday said a male and female are facing charges after police located a firearm during a vehicle stop in Oshawa on Sunday night.

On April 16 at about 5:15 pm, members of Central East Division stopped a vehicle in the area of Taunton Road East and Ritson Road North in Oshawa.

A male and female in the vehicle were both arrested on outstanding warrants issued by the Toronto Police Service without incident. Upon further investigation, police seized approximately 13 grams of cocaine, 155 grams of cannabis, 45 grams of GHB and a loaded firearm, said a statement.

The suspects from Oshawa and Ajax are facing nine charges. Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
