Washroom excuse… again

DRPS Traffic Services were out patrolling Brock Road and Mowbray Street in Pickering, which is regulated by a stop sign with visible stop line, said the officer on duty.

“The driver failed to stop and turned northbound in front of me as I travelled southbound. The excuse, he had to use the washroom.. Plan ahead,” the officer said.

Stunt drivers charged

Durham Regional Police Service pointed out that the warm weather over the weekend wasn’t the only thing COMING IN HOT!

Two stunt drivers were charged in Whitby and had their cars impounded and licences suspended.

The incident happened at 11:10 pm in the area of Taunton Road and Highway 412 in Whitby.

One driver was clocked doing 118kmh in a 70-zone. A 17-year old male from oshawa was charged.

Just two hours later, a driver was caught doing 117kmh. An 18-year old male, also from Oshawa, was charged.

Please slow down and obey posted speed limits, police said.

Cutting across lanes

DRPS Traffic Services said the driver of this dump truck (below) came off Highway 401 and Brock Road in Pickering and turned right on a red traffic control light.

The truck was going so fast he had to cross three northbound lanes of traffic and then cut back from the first to the curb lane which the cruiser occupied.

Several charges laid, said the officer.
