Three cruisers rammed in high-speed chase

An Uxbridge male is facing multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit and ramming three cruisers.

On Tuesday October 13, at about 10:15 pm, officers were called to a disturbance on Goodwood Road in Uxbridge. Reports indicated two males were fighting, said a police statement.

One of the males left the area in a pickup truck eastbound on Goodwood Road.

Police pursued the truck, which was travelling at high speeds along Goodwood Road to Concessions Road 7. The vehicle stopped on Bell Street and reversed into a cruiser, rendering it inoperable. A second cruiser was hit twice by the suspect at Reach and East Streets; the second impact caused the airbags to deploy in the cruiser, police said.

A third cruiser was hit by the suspect at Lakeridge Road and Reach Street before the suspect drove off northbound on Lakeridge Road toward Highway 47. The area was checked by officers and Air1 with negative results. No one was hurt as a result of these three collisions, the statement said.

Just before 2 am Wednesday morning, police were called to a residence in the Goodwood Road and Front Street area for an unwanted person call involving the same suspect. He fled on foot through nearby backyards where he was located in a child’s playhouse concealing a knife in his hands. After a brief struggle, the male was arrested by officers.

Daniel Trudel, age 31 of Uxbridge faces multiple charges, including Flight from a Peace Officer; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace and Fail to Remain. He was held for a bail hearing.
