Three suspects, two guns, drugs at traffic stop

Three suspects were arrested on Tuesday after a traffic stop in Pickering led to the discovery of two loaded handguns, Durham Police said.

On January 28  at 10:50 pm, members of West Division stopped a four-door Audi in the area of Brock Road in Pickering for a Highway Traffic Act violation. Upon speaking to the driver and occupants, the officer observed cannabis in plain and conducted further investigation under the Cannabis Act. During the investigation, officers located two loaded handguns and a quantity of cannabis, which was seized, said a media release.

Jayden Williams, age 18 of Butterworth Drive in Ajax, Sarah Dale, age 21 of Oshawa and a 16-year-old male from Ajax face a combined 22 firearm-related charges including: Careless Storage of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Possession Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle; Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available; Drive Motor Vehicle No Validation on Plate and Drive Motor Vehicle No License. They were all held for bail hearings.
