Imagine driving along on Highway 401 at around 100 kmh (or more) when the rear axle of the truck in front of you comes off and goes rolling down the road.
Luckily, it was not during peak rush hours. A brief police report did not mention anyone who was injured.
Eyewitnesses, who passed by the accident site minutes later, said there were no injuries or any other vehicle collisions as a result.
The incident happened on May 11th at 10:43 pm, said Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division.
“Whitby OPP Investigated a commercial motor vehicle that lost its axles on #Hwy401 east at Harmony Road in Oshawa,” said the OPP.
It did not mention any further details.
