Two Bowmanville commercial buildings approved

Clarington Council has approved plans for two new commercial buildings in Bowmanville.

A site plan application submitted by n Architecture Inc. on behalf of 2579004 Ontario Inc. and 2578924 Ontario Inc. to permit the construction of a one-storey commercial development was approved on June 4, 2020.

The commercial development is in the Auto Mall area and is located at the northwest corner of Spicer Square. The development will have a floor area of 930 square metres (10,010 square feet) including seven units and a parking area with 54 parking spaces.

A building permit application has been submitted and construction is expected to begin in the coming months,the council said.

Commercial building at 122 King Street East

The council said a site plan application submitted by JR. Freethy Architect to permit the construction of a one-storey commercial building at the northwest corner of King Street East and Ontario Street in Bowmanville was approved on June 4, 2020.

The commercial development will have a gross floor area of 150 square metres (1,615 square feet) and a parking area with five parking spaces. The commercial development could be used for commercial and retail space.

The building permit application is expected to be submitted in the coming weeks.
