Two break-and-enters at Ajax food outlets

Durham Police yesterday asked for residents’ help in identifying two suspects from separate thefts in Ajax.

On Monday, October 21 at 4 am, the Mexico Lindo Restaurant at Harwood Avenue South in Ajax was broken into. The suspect was captured on video surveillance in the premises.

He allegedly stole electronics, cash and alcohol from the restaurant. It’s believed that the male operates a white pick-up truck.

He is described as male, white, 50-60 years, medium build, prescription glasses. He was wearing a baseball hat, gloves, button-up long sleeve shirt with a t-shirt underneath.

Smokes Poutinerie

In a separate incident on October 29, a suspect entered the Smokes Poutinerie at Kingston Road East in Ajax and attempted to gain access to the food trucks parked out front.

He then made attempts to gain access into the restaurant and caused damage to numerous doors. the male was unsuccessful in gaining access and fled on foot.

He is described as male, black, 20-25 years, hair in corn rows, medium build. He was wearing a black “Roots” hooded sweater, grey jogging pants and a black jacket.
