Two-year old child struck by reversing car on driveway

A two-year-old child is currently in hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Ajax on Sunday evening.

On Sunday, August 21, at approximately 7:15 PM, officers from West Division were called to a residence on Williamson Drive East, for a two-year-old child that had been struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was reversing into his driveway when the child was struck. The child was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center with life threatening injuries, said a police statement.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
