UPDATE: Albert Street gunshot was after drug quarrel

Three men are facing charges after a victim was pistol whipped during an altercation in Oshawa on Tuesday, Durham Police said.

On December 3 at 3:30 pm, members of the Central East Division responded to a residence on Albert Street in Oshawa for a possible shooting. Officers spoke to a neighbor who heard what sounded like a gunshot. The suspects visited the victim’s residence for a drug transaction and an altercation took place before they assaulted the male and fled on foot, said a police media release.

Two males were quickly arrested by police and a quantity of drugs were also recovered. A third suspect fled on foot but was arrested at a nearby school. The victim suffered minor injuries. Officers recovered a loaded firearm hidden on the school property on Simcoe Street and Gibb Street, said the release.

Trey Johnson, age 23, of Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (heroin); Theft Under $5,000; Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime and Unlawfully in Dwelling.

Elroy Middleton, age 21, of Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, is charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine); Carry Concealed Weapon x2; Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Dante Johnson, age 18, of Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, is charged with; Assault with a Weapon; Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose; Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine);Assault; Careless Storage of Firearm; Careless Storage; Contravention of Storage Regulations; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device; Possession of Prohibited Firearm; Possession of a Prohibited Device; Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition; Point Firearm; Use Firearm in Commission of Offence; Unlawfully in Dwelling and Theft Under $5,000.

They were all held for a bail hearing.
