Wheel comes off tow truck on Highway 401, all safe

A wheel came off a tow truck traveling on Highway 401 eastbound at Liverpool Road in Pickering according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

However, no one was injured, said OPP  Highway Safety Division.

A driver side wheel came off the tow truck. No collision and no injuries were reported.

The driver was charged with:
– Drive commercial motor vehicle (CMV) part detached
– Drive CMV with major defect
– Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report

Impaired caught with crashed car

Meanwhile, the central west division of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) responded to multiple calls for a vehicle yesterday evening.

The vehicle was eventually located and the driver was arrested for impaired driving.
