Durham police yesterday said a male is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation in Oshawa.
On Saturday, September 19, members of Central East Division responded to an unknown trouble call in the area of Bond Street East and Wilson Road North.
The victim agreed to attend the residence of a male she had met through the social media app ‘Snapchat’. During the course of the evening the victim was drugged by the suspect. The victim contacted police after regaining consciousness during the sexual assault.
Officers arrived on scene and located the victim outside of the residence. She was transported to a local-area hospital which confirmed a quantity of noxious substances in her system.
The suspect was later taken into custody without incident, police said. The suspect, age 23 from Oshawa, was charged and held for a bail hearing.
