You’re invited to the Best Elvis Competition

Do you think it’s easy to be Elvis Presley? To take on the King of Rock’s persona, meld into it, look like him, sing like him and move like him?

Keene Centre for the Arts’ Elvis Weekend has brought together some amazing talent who will be putting on their Blue Suede Shoes and become a Hound Dog at the show.

Just come along and listen to some great renditions and impersonations.

The show is scheduled for Labour Day weekend at the Roseneath Fairground Stage on Highway 45, 9059 Roseneath ON K0K 2X0. The timing has been carefully chosen to make it easier for everyone to attend, says Ida Brown, show organizer.

The preliminaries start on Friday, September 3rd at 7 pm. Entry fee is $25.

The show will start with the Best Elvis competition with four contestants – Paul Thain, Berry Chumbley, Ken Arndt and Darren Brown – giving their very best Elvis impersonation for half an hour each.

Judges are Carolyn MacArthur and John Cosway and you, the public. Come cheer them on!

On Saturday, September 4th, again at 7 pm, the finals will be held at the same venue with the same entry fee.

MC’s Jim Glover (radio host) and Jack London (Tribute star) will announce the winner from Friday’s competition and invite him to join headliner Reverend Dorian Arthur Baxter (a.k.a Elvis Priestly) on stage. It will be a performance filled with excitement and music, promises Ida Brown, the host.

But that is not all. Who can forget the gospels sung by Elvis and his band? And what better time to listen to the uplifting music than on a Sunday morning along with breakfast.

The Elvis Gospel show begins on Sunday, September 5th at 10 am at the same venue and with the same entry fee. However, you will be pampered with coffee and all of Elvis’ breakfast favorites.

Reverend Dorian Arthur Baxter (a.k.a Elvis Priestly) will even renew your vows afterwards for a fee.

“It’s going to be so beautiful and romantic with lots and lots of Elvis music,” says Ida. “Tickets can be purchased online keenecentreforthearts.com, by e-transfer to ida.blwgd@outlook.com or by making a reservation by text to 705-440-0527.
