Youth serious after gang assault, phone and shoes stolen

Durham Police are looking for five suspects after a youth was assaulted during a robbery in Pickering.

On July 10 at about 12:10 am, members of West Division responded to a robbery call in the area of Kingston Road and Rosebank Road.

The victim planned to meet a friend in the area and parked his vehicle in a nearby lot. As the victim was walking toward a residence, he was approached by five male suspects. The suspects assaulted the victim, damaged his vehicle, and stole his shoes and cell phone, said a police report.

It said the suspects fled the area in a dark coloured vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam, cellphone, surveillance footage, or any information about this incident to contact the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1905.
