Durham police yesterday said a 12-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.
On Thursday, October 16 at about 4:10 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a collision in the area of Windfields Farm Drive and Bandsman Crescent. A 12-year-old male pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway and was struck by a Chevrolet travelling southbound on Windfields Farm Drive.
The 12-year-old pedestrian suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local-area hospital. The 16-year-old driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene, police said.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
