13-year old held for bail for threatening kid with fake gun

Durham police yesterday said a 13-year old girl pulled a fake gun on another kid during a verbal argument in Oshawa.

On Thursday, April 23, around 5:50 pm, members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Bridle Road and Northern Dancer Drive.

A female youth brandished a firearm with an extended magazine to other youth after being involved in a verbal altercation. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

No injuries have been reported to police.

A short time later, officers located the suspect and took her into custody without incident. A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence in the area, where officers seized a firearm that was confirmed to be an imitation Glock with extended magazine.

A 13-year-old female from Ajax has been charged and held for a bail hearing.

Anyone with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1805.
