Two women got into a fight that ended with one woman stabbed with serious injuries. The stabber then attempted to flee the area, according to the police.
On Friday, April 24, at around 7:15 am, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Kingston Road and Liverpool Road in the City of Pickering.
Two females were involved in an altercation when one of them brandished a knife and stabbed the other. The suspect attempted to flee the area but was located by police and taken into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim and accused are known to each other, police said.
