132 bridges to be washed across Durham + Brock traffic

All regional bridges in all the eight area municipalities will be washed, according to the Region of Durham. It also announced lane restrictions on Regional Road 13 in the Township of Brock.

Bridge washing will be underway from July 20 till the end of August.

There are a total of 132 regional bridges in the Town of Ajax, Township of Brock, Municipality of Clarington, City of Oshawa, City of Pickering, Township of Scugog, Township of Uxbridge and the Town of Whitby.

Washing of the bridges is completed annually to clear any debris and maintain the structures, the region said.

Minimal traffic disruptions are expected, however lane restrictions may apply. Drivers are reminded to exercise caution.

Brock Lane Restrictions

There will be lane restrictions on Regional Road 13 in Brock from July 20 to September 30.

The lane restrictions will be in place on Regional Road 13, from 30 metres east of Highway 12 to 1.1 kilometres east of Sideroad 18 to safely complete road rehabilitation.

The region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
