A female youth is in custody and two males are wanted after an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in the Oshawa Center.
There have been several recent incidents involving minors in robberies (see below).
On Saturday, November 29, at about 5:55 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a robbery call at Bellagio Jewelers located in the Oshawa Center at 419 King Street West.
Three suspects entered the mall and approached the jewelry store while wearing masks and hoods. Security observed the suspects and immediately intervened forcing the suspects to flee. One of the suspects was apprehended by security before they could exit the mall, while the other two suspects fled the area in a small SUV, police said.
No employees sustained any physical injuries.
A 15-year-old female from Toronto is charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, disguise with intent, and possess weapon for committing offense. She was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators are working to identify the two involved male suspects. This investigation remains ongoing.
