A 15-year-old female and a male suspect were arrested in a human trafficking investigation, said Durham Police.
On November 18, Human Trafficking investigators began an investigation at an Oshawa hotel where a 16-year-old female was being trafficked for sexual services within the Greater Toronto Area. With the assistance of Waterloo Regional Police and Guelph Police Services, a 33-year-old male, and a 15-year-old female were arrested and they are facing numerous human-trafficking charges, it said.
Nicholas Hill, age 33, of Hurontario Street in Mississauga, is charged with: Trafficking In Persons Under 18 Years by Exercising Control; Permit Person Under 18 Years of Age on Premise for Prohibited Sexual Activity x2; Material Benefit from Sexual Services Provided by Person Under 18 Years; Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services; Procuring / Exercising Control Over Person Under 18 and Financial/Material Benefit Trafficking Person Under 18.
A 15-year-old female of Toronto, was charged with: Trafficking in Persons Under 18 Years by Exercising Control; Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services; Procuring / Exercising Control Over Person Under 18 and Financial/Material Benefit Trafficking Person Under 18 and Material Benefit from Sexual Services Provided by Person Under 18 Years
They were both held for a bail hearing.
