DDSB to brief parents on changed learning details

Durham District School Board (DDSB) yesterday said it will be reaching out to parents with the new details of learning following the postponement of in-class teaching.

Starting January 5, students will pivot to remote learning with free emergency child care planned for school-aged children of health care and other eligible frontline workers.

“The Government of Ontario has announced that we will be moving to remote learning until at least January 17,” said the DDSB in a tweet.

“We will be sharing more information with parents/guardians and staff later today,” it added.

At the end of last month DDSB had to make a similar announcement as it was then announced that schools would reopen on January 5.

However, rampant Omicron has delayed resumption of classes – among other measures – to help restrict the spread of the Covid-19 virus strain.
