Police track stolen rental Ram, arrest two with drugs

Durham Police yesterday said a male and a female are facing numerous charges after being arrested in a stolen rental vehicle in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, April 23 at about 5:05 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a stolen vehicle call in the area of Highway 401 and Ritson Road South.

A Dodge Ram pickup truck that had been reported stolen from Toronto, was tracking in the Oshawa area. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Ritson Road South and Lakeview Park Avenue. Police blocked the stolen vehicle and took the occupants into custody without incident, said a police report.

A search of the suspects and the vehicle revealed a quantity of various drugs.

The male suspect, age 33 from Bowmanville, and the female suspect, age 28 from Oshawa were charged. Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
