Alarm scares off commercial break-and-enter suspect

Durham Police is asking for public assistance in finding a suspect after they broke into two businesses in Pickering.

On January 19, between 10:20 pm and 10:30 pm, an unknown male broke into the Amici Restaurant located at 1315 Pickering Parkway.

While in the restaurant the suspect broke another glass door to gain access to the commercial building the restaurant is attached to. The suspect attempted to break into a second business, The Case for Wine, through the commercial building. This set off an audible alarm which prompted the suspect to flee the area, said a police report.

The suspect is described as: male, White, with a medium build. They were wearing an orange jacket, with black pants, and grey shoes.
