Officers manage to corner and rescue slippery fugitive

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) officers are called in for a wide variety of reasons, including rescue of not just people, but also pets and wildlife.

A DRPS report said, on an unspecified date, officers managed to corner and rescue a slippery beaver on the loose in Whitby.

Officers located a furry fugitive walking the wrong ‘dam’ way down Thickson Road.

“He resisted tooth and tail but they escorted him to safety where he made his way back into the water, police said.

No further details were released.
