Another employer from Whitby held for historic sex assault

Durham Police yesterday said a male has been arrested for a historic sexual assault in Whitby.

In early 2019, the victim was employed by the suspect at a business in the area of Taunton Road and Brock Street. During the course of the victim’s employment, the suspect made unprofessional remarks and touched the victim inappropriately, police said.

The suspect, age 53, was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

This suspect is not the same as the Durham restaurateur from Whitby, who was charged with historic sex assault about a year ago (see story below).

Anyone who feels they have been victimized, or has information about this or similar incidents is asked to contact D/Cst. Robinson of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1854.
