Traffc Blitz: Drivers keep your eyes up and phones down

DRPS Traffic Services have warned of the dangers of distracted driving, which creates a hazardous situation for all road users.

“Keep your eyes up, and phones down,” it said in an alert.

Meanwhile, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division announced its officers and those from DRPS Central East Divivion are holding a cell phone blitz this week.

The two divisions cover Oshawa and Clarington.

Distracted driving is one of the ‘big four killers on our roads’, they pointed out.

“A hands-free Bluetooth device will save you from a ticket, and may just save your life,” said the annoucement.

It pointed out violation fines start at $615+
