Circle K thief stole cigarettes while staff used washroom

Durham Police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a theft suspect in Ajax.

On March 25th at about 5:45 am, an unknown male entered the Circle K located at 961 Westney Road South in Ajax.

The male proceeded around the front counter and accessed the cigarette display while the employee was in the washroom. As he was removing a quantity of cigarettes the employee confronted him but he was able to leave the store with the property, said a police report.

The suspect is described as: male, black, 40-60 years, 6’2”, 200Ibs, black jacket, grey hoodie, ball cap with green bill and carry a black, red hand bag grey and brown beard. Suspect’s photo available at www.drps.ca.

The employee did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
